Flash Back- Flash Forward! Marathon Time!

Hello ,

It's been a minute. I trust you got a chance to check out my sewing blog that is up. I have been working on my sewing this past week and getting the blog going. In addition fitness is on the rise.

As part of the year of being thirty I figure I couldn't leave the fitness aspect out. After all we all want to be healthy right. I hope so.

So FLASH BACK.
Last year I took part in my first race ever. The Toronto Soctiabank Waterfront Marathon, Half Marathon and 5km. It was the first of my fitness challenge I completed the 5km. My goal at the time with only a limited time to train was to focus on completing the 5km by  run/walk. In the end all hiped of event date and slightly in abit of pain I ran the full race! Completing in 39mins. WOW!! What an accomplishment for me, as you can see above I was all smiles after. Felt good to see this through. I slacked off after the race with the running though, allowing my schedule to get into the way and running sort of fell off the charts.

FLASH FORWARD

I started training again in May this year. I plan to make running apart of my routine and that outlet for fitness weekly. So whether I do two or three days a week I endeavor to increase my fitness. The goal in the end this year is to take part in the race again this time completing the 21km race. Yes, you all heard right 21km. The Half Marathon, equivalent to 13miles.aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh.. And that I will complete by the grace of God.

So far so good. I do challenge myself weekly and I believe I am making progress following my plan. I never thought I would even run 1 km much less 21.km. And yet I pursue. This past weekend the end of my 8th week of Training I completed the longest distance so far 12KM in 1.5hrs. Pretty good

I see myself completing this and I know that it will be a great fitness achievement in the end. Perseverance and hard work will prevail. No one said it would be easy.

I will keep you all posted.

  1. I I have let my fitness slack for over a year and boy am I paying dearly for it now....I am glad you're back on track with your training...it's nice when you are actively working towards your goals but even more important to have short term goals to help you on your way....this is a lesson I need to implement in my fitness....my fitness goals are never realistic- in my head I'm an Olympic athlete waiting to happen which means I start off the top and crash...smh

  2. 21 km is a great challenge but I am sure you're up to it! Keep up the positive attitude! I admire your dedication. It inspires me in my own life even though I may not be running any time soon lol...in other aspects of my life! Thanks for the push!
